A day in the life of an inside Property Adjuster, and what it takes to do the job! As a Moderate Inside Property Adjuster, you will provide exceptional service to our policyholders. Your primary responsibility is to virtually inspect damages, investigate coverage, prepare estimates, and settle claims promptly and accurately. You will interact with customers, contractors, and vendors through software platforms such as Xactimate and Claims
X Video Collaboration, using voice, email, and text channels. You will focus on water losses and ensure customers receive the highest level of support and resolution for these claims.
- The Customer Service Expert – embody Allstate’s claims culture by caring, empowering, and restoring; be compassionate, clear, and a committed partner in each property claim, leading with empathy.
- The Investigator – independently investigate property claims by performing detailed damage reviews and interpreting policies to determine coverage.
- The Effective Communicator – use phone, email, and video chat to guide customers through a fast, fair, and easy claims process; adapt communication to customer preferences and keep them updated on progress.
- The Negotiator – evaluate and negotiate settlements with customers, vendors, third-party carriers, and claimants in accordance with legal and business standards; apply tact in complex situations.
- The Problem Solver – utilize multiple tools (estimates, job aids, settlement platforms) in a fast-paced environment with strong critical thinking.
- The Recorder – protect the company financially by accurately documenting work in claims systems and ensuring timely, precise record-keeping on each claim.
- Training and after-hours: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Hybrid - Mon/Fri Remote, Tue–Thu in-office
- Office locations: 28-07 Jackson Avenue, Long Island City, NY 11101 or 1125 RXR Plaza, 11th Floor, Uniondale, NY 11556
- 1+ years of customer service experience
- Previous industry experience is highly desired
- Proficiency in Xactimate and other software for virtual assessments
- Ability to assess property damages and determine claim coverage
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills for remote interaction with customers and stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and manage time in a virtual environment
- Detail-oriented and organized with focus on high-quality, efficient claim resolutions
- Residency near Long Island City or Uniondale, NY is required
- You will receive comprehensive training to build a claims foundation and learn systems and processes used daily
- Ongoing training opportunities for continuous improvement
- Licensing:
Depending on the area, you may be required to obtain an adjuster and/or appraiser license within 60 days of hire, including passing a background check - Hiring Manager and Centralized Licensing team will assist with licensing if required
You may be eligible for a $1,000 Licensing Sign-On Bonus if you have the applicable active licenses required for this role. This may include Home State Property & Casualty license, Designated Home State licenses (e.g., Florida or Texas), and/or applicable Appraiser License. Current employees or candidates who have previously worked for Allstate are not eligible.

CompensationCompensation offered for this role is $64,350 - $131,300 and is based on experience and qualifications. A background investigation will be required for the selected candidate.
