BHSI has an exciting opportunity for an Underwriting Technician to join the Transactional Liability team in our New York City office. The Transactional Liability team provides insurance in connection with Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), including Representation and Warranty Insurance, Tax Insurance, and Contingent Liability Insurance.
ResponsibilitiesAs an Underwriting Technician (UT), you will support the underwriting team and will perform tasks to directly support the underwriting and policy issuance processes, including pre-quote, pre-bind, bind and post bind transactions. In addition, you will perform underwriting support activities associated with information gathering, data capture and reporting.
- Capture submission and policy data and prepare reports for Underwriters.
- Build electronic files and ensure file integrity.
- Support underwriters with all activities related to account management.
- Coordinate policy issuance and liaise with Operations team.
- Correspond with brokers; follow up on outstanding information.
- Act as a liaison to the Operations Group.
- 1-3 years commercial insurance experience is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong working knowledge of Excel for data management and reporting.
- Proven attention to detail.
- Must be proactive and able to work within a team environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong willingness to learn.
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.

Compensation will be commensurate with experience. This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Team Members may perform other related duties as negotiated to meet the ongoing needs of the organization. The base salary range for this position in New York is $60,000 to $80,000, along with annual bonus eligibility. Total compensation for a candidate is determined by their relevant skills, location, and experience.
