Job Description Summary
Investigates, evaluates, and negotiates claims to a successful resolution in support of Freedom Specialty lines of business including Errors and Omissions, Directors and Officers, EPLI, and other specialty lines/risks. File inventory includes litigated and non‑litigated claims of low to moderate complexity and severity. Associates at this level have low monetary authority and manage the work and performance of vendors to achieve successful resolution of claims.

Reports to Claims Director, Freedom Specialty.

Job Requirements
- Education: College degree required. Juris Doctorate preferred.
- Licensure: Obtain required federal and/or state licenses/registrations within the prescribed time frame. Failure to obtain licenses makes the candidate ineligible.
- Experience: 2‑4 years of claims handling experience. Prior experience in directing defense counsel required. Line‑specific experience may be required.
- Knowledge: Specific knowledge of a particular line of business; familiarity with various insurance policies preferred.
- Skills: Strong written and verbal communication, multitasking, time management and organizational skills; ability to manage all responsibilities effectively.
- Values: Consistently demonstrate Nationwide Values and Guiding Behaviors.
- Overtime Eligibility: Not Eligible (Exempt).
- Working Conditions: Normal office environment.
