Seeking an Exceptional Insurance Examiner to Join Our Client’s Dynamic Team!
Are you detail-oriented, thrive in a fast-paced environment and looking for an employee-friendly company? We are currently seeking an Insurance Examiner for our client, a progressive insurance broker, to play a crucial role in processing incoming documents for accuracy and stamping. Performs technical and clerical duties to ensure smooth flow of work through this company’s department.
As an Examiner, you will be responsible for examining incoming documents, determining coverage and classification codes, verifying eligibility for stamping, and ensuring compliance with New York State regulations. In addition, you will collaborate with brokers to obtain necessary information and correct minor clerical errors.
Mondays remote, 4 days on-site. Summers — Fridays are remote. Based on performance, can get an additional remote day.
- Examine incoming documents with precision, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and acceptability.
- Determine correct coverage and classification codes to ensure proper handling.
- Verify the eligibility of companies for stamping in New York State.
- Identify items requiring additional or corrected information for thorough documentation.
- Initiate telephone conversations with brokers to obtain any necessary additional information.
- Correct minor clerical errors on affidavits with the consent of the broker.
- Identify items that require return to the broker without stamping, adhering to established guidelines.
- Determine the proper "suspense" code for each returned unstamped batch item.
- Skillfully apply stamps to all documents meeting state requirements and adhering to NY laws for excess line placements.
- Organize and maintain the original affidavits by diligently filing them in monthly folders for brokers.
- Minimum 2 years of property and casualty or commercial lines insurance experience.
- Familiarity with excess/ surplus lines documentation and terminology.
- Must have ability to make complex mathematical calculations relating to the division of insurance premium percentages.
- Excellent verbal communication skills and strong written skills.
- Proficiency in computer applications and general office software.

Salary: 60,000 – 65,000 commensurate with experience, non-exempt, eligible for overtime.
