Senior Reinsurance Claims Specialist

This role will be responsible for managing the US domestic claims portfolio for all classes of business underwritten by their New York Office

Key Duties (Including but not limited to):

• Manage daily claim activities and be responsible for assigned portfolio across a variety of classes of business, including the prompt payment of claim settlements and setting of reserves
• Investigate and assess new and existing claims, reviewing contractual terms to determine coverage and exposure
• Ensure timely and adequate case reserves, actively working towards the prompt resolution of claims
• Work closely with the Middle Office/Operations Team to approve referred claims in a timely manner and provide guidance on complex claims issues
• A degree from a University or College in a business or legal discipline is preferred
• A minimum of 6 years of claims handling experience within the reinsurance industry
• Extensive experience and in-depth knowledge of technical reinsurance claims handling
• Strong understanding of property, casualty, and specialty re/insurance lines of business
