* Job Summary:
** As a Underwriter at MSIG USA, you will play a key role in supporting the growth and profitability of our Trade Credit & Political Risk portfolio. This underwriting position focuses on evaluating and servicing a range of risks and exposures while developing strong broker relationships and contributing to customized insurance solutions. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure underwriting excellence and client satisfaction.

* Essential Functions:
*** Evaluate and underwrite marine risks within assigned authority, ensuring alignment with company guidelines and risk appetite
* Analyze submissions, financials, and loss histories to assess risk quality and pricing adequacy
* Apply appropriate rating methodologies and ensure compliance with regulatory filings and state requirements
* Draft and review policy forms, endorsements, and coverage terms tailored to client needs
* Maintain accurate and complete underwriting documentation in accordance with internal and external standards
* Monitor portfolio performance, including premium trends, loss ratios, and underwriting results
* Collaborate with brokers through meetings and account reviews to strengthen relationships and identify growth opportunities
* Partner with Risk Engineering, Claims, and Marketing teams to support retention and new business initiatives
* Contribute to special projects and team initiatives as assigned

* Qualifications:
*** High school diploma or GED required;
Bachelor’s degree preferred
* 3-4 years of insurance industry experience preferred
* Prior experience as an Underwriting Assistant or Associate is a plus
* Basic understanding of marine insurance principles, policy forms, rating manuals, and regulatory frameworks a plus
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Effective interpersonal and negotiation abilities
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn internal systems
* Commitment to ongoing professional development and insurance education (e.g., AMIM, CPCU) SALARY:
The estimated salary range for this position is $ - $ per year. This is a good-faith assessment of the salary range for this position only. In determining the actual salary within this range, MSIG USA will consider a candidate’s relevant experience, location, and other job-related factors.
