Principal Consultant

Overview

Allianz Consulting is the internal consulting division of Allianz Group, operating within Allianz Technology of America. Based in multiple global hubs, our dedicated teams of over 600 consultants partner with Allianz core segments to transform the future of the Group through strategy, market management, sales, distribution, IT, organization, claims, operations and central functions.

As a Principal Consultant, you will deliver strategy and transformation services across insurance and financial services, collaborating with cross‑functional client teams to create tangible value through deep industrial and functional expertise.

• M&A transaction office for a large project
• Strategic growth and transformation for commercial insurance
• Business architecture model for life insurance
• Distribution strategy for commercial insurance
• AI tool implementation in commercial underwriting

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years of consulting, corporate strategy or operational experience, emphasizing Property & Casualty and/or Specialty Insurance
• Solid P&C insurance product and market knowledge and experience with key business processes
• Professional insurance qualification or previous experience in portfolio solutions, wholesale insurance, E&S, commercial underwriting or insurance regulation is a plus
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills to solve complex problems
• Track record of delivering tangible client value and generating consulting revenue
• Business finance skills (financial modelling, business case development)
• Program/project management experience leading teams and working with multiple stakeholders
• Accountability and sense of urgency to help clients achieve goals
• Ability to mentor colleagues and develop junior staff
• Data‑driven methodology application
• Outstanding communication skills (writing, producing, presenting deliverables)
• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint);
  Salesforce, Power
  
  BI and underwriting AI solutions are a plus

• Hybrid 3 days/week in New York City

• Hybrid work model balancing in‑person collaboration and remote work

• Annualized base pay range $120,000‑$150,000 in New York City (actual salary determined by scope, complexity, location and candidate credentials)
