Job Description - Sr. A&E Underwriting Professional ) Location
The position can be located in any Allied World US office including New York, Iselin, NJ, Boston, Farmington, Houston, Dallas, Chicago, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami.
Job SummaryThe AVP will be proficient in evaluating, analyzing and determining the appropriate terms and conditions for the various products within the A&E Division. This will include A&E, Contractors, Project placements and Excess placements on all lines. The position will focus, in part, on facilitating and developing producer and insured contacts specific to Architects and Engineers within the ENR 500 group.
Job Duties & Responsibilities- Review and analyze underwriting submissions
- Establish a network of market contacts and act as the lead marketer of A&E and Construction Professional in your territory
- Underwrite to appropriate terms and conditions following the Company business strategy to quote selected risks
- Present accounts to customers
- Price and analyze coverage, structure and exposures
- Attend client/broker meetings as applicable
- Negotiate with brokers and clients for new and renewal business
- Assist in the development and formulation of data/reports as needed
- Ensure that underwriting pricing and discipline are followed to meet profitability goals, complying with underwriting guidelines, systems and procedures
- Attend underwriting audits as needed
- Liaise with brokers, internal auditors and Claims, Accounting, IT and Legal departments as appropriate
- Attend important industry conferences and seminars as appropriate
The annualized base pay range is a broad range based on analysis of similar positions in the market. The actual base pay for the position may be above or below the listed range and determined by a number of considerations, including but not limited to complexity, location, and scope of the role, along with experience, skills, education, training, and other conditions of employment.
Base salary represents one compensation of Allied World comprehensive total reward package, which may also include annual incentive compensation rewards.
The base salary range for this role is $150,000 - $210,000.
Qualifications- 7+ years Professional liability underwriting experience, or equivalent broker experience
- Experience in architects and engineers (A/E) exposure analysis, Contractors exposure analysis, project specific professional liability placements and a working knowledge of A/E/Contractors specialty producers and brokers
- Solid communication skills, computer skills, and organizational skills
- Insurance certification preferred (CPCU or RPLU)
