Description
Under the guidance of a manager, this role involves handling a range of specialized and analytical tasks related to auto and workers’ compensation claims. Responsibilities include monitoring, coordinating, and processing claims, maintaining detailed case documentation, and interviewing injured employees. The Claims Specialist will serve as a key resource on workers’ comp matters, work across various claims systems, and ensure timely updates to support business goals.
Strong multitasking abilities, attention to detail, and organizational skills are essential.

- Manage workers’ compensation and auto claims, including bodily injury, physical damage, property damage, and liability.
- Act as a subject matter expert on workers’ comp and auto claims, providing guidance on relevant laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Respond to inquiries from employees, TPAs, medical providers, and other stakeholders.
- Track and record appropriate leave usage related to workers’ comp benefits; coordinate with payroll and relevant departments for necessary adjustments.
- Review claims and collaborate with claim consultants to ensure reserve accuracy within established authority.
- Maintain detailed records, case files, correspondence, and OSHA documentation related to claims activities.
- Verify job‑related incidents with claimants and supervisors; issue required notices as appropriate.
- Support escalated client issues and complex requests as needed.
- Prepare account status reports and maintain strong communication with carriers and clients.
- Participate in meetings, workshops, and conferences to stay current on industry practices.
This is a Contract position based out of Bronx, NY.
Workplace Type: fully onsite.
