IT Application Development – 2026 Summer Internship
Location:
New York City
Duration: 8 weeks (Monday June 8 to Friday July 31)
Pay Rate: $20 per hour
Department Summary: The Reporting Product and Enterprise Data Platform teams play a critical role in enabling MOA data-driven operations. Team responsibilities include ingesting data from a wide range of internal and external sources, transforming and refining that data to ensure accuracy and usability, and delivering timely, reliable information to the business in the form of reports and dashboards. By providing curated datasets, analytical capabilities, and self-service reporting tools, we support key business processes, enhance decision-making, and help drive operational efficiency across the enterprise.
Role
Summary:
Mutual of America’s Summer Internship Program provides college students with hands-on corporate experience working with meaningful projects and assignments. Throughout the 8-week program, interns will have direct guidance from experienced leaders in their assigned departments and may attend training classes and planned events with other interns.
- Monitor Qlik environments:
Review Qlik environment monitoring applications to identify potential issues, track system health, and analyze reload activity for anomalies. - Develop Business Reports:
Leverage Qlik to build analytical applications, validate business requirements, and work with developers to define and implement the data pathways necessary for report development. - Analyze data and maintain alerting rules:
Use Qlik and/or Excel to analyze datasets produced for the Citizen Developer initiative. Establish and maintain data-driven alerts based on predefined thresholds. - Maintain and streamline Report Inventory processes:
Review the existing report inventory to ensure it accurately reflects the reports available across environments. Make updates as needed and develop an ongoing process to keep the inventory current. - Document and support Data Governance processes:
Review existing Data Governance procedures and documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness. Maintain and update training materials that support Data Governance standards and initiatives. - Manage the Data Governance backlog:
Partner with Data Governance leadership to maintain a well-groomed, prioritized backlog of activities and initiatives.
- Only accepting rising Sophomores (graduation May 2029) and rising Juniors (graduation May 2028).
- Must have a minimum overall 3.4 GPA.
- Must be able to commute to NYC 4 days a week (Monday – Thursday).
