Quality Assurance Engineer

Pikl is on a mission to enable the growth of digital marketplaces, starting with vacation rentals. We design and deliver insurance-enabled solutions that help platforms, property managers and owners unlock new revenue and deliver better customer experiences.

Founded in 2016, we began by protecting individual hosts and homeowners with specialist holiday-let cover. That experience now powers our insurance-enabled products, which increase participation, lift conversion and drive revenue across the marketplace value chain: platforms, homeowners and guests.

We are looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer to help ensure that Pikl’s Next.js, React, Express, and Type Script-based applications are reliable, secure, and built to a high standard.

You will work closely with engineers and product managers to design testing strategies that fit our modern web and cloud-based architecture, combining manual testing, automated testing, and quality-focused collaboration.

• Design and execute test plans for our Next.js frontend and Express backend. Validate both user experience and API behavior.
• Build and maintain automated tests that work within our stack. Help create a scalable testing foundation.
• Test REST APIs built in Express and Type Script. Use tools such as Postman, Insomnia, or automated API testing frameworks.
• Work with MySQL test data. Help define test datasets and validate data integrity across services.
• Collaborate with engineers early in the development process. Provide feedback before issues reach production.

• Experience in software testing or quality assurance. Familiarity with both manual and automated testing approaches.
• Understanding of web applications and APIs. You can reason about how React frontends and Express backends should behave.
• Strong attention to detail. You notice edge cases and potential failure points.
