Job Title: Educational Technology Specialist (Part-Time)
Department: Educational Technology Office
Location: Baruch College, 151 E 25 th Street, New York, NY 10010
Schedule: 15–20 hours per week. (Hybrid, some in-office hours required each week.)
Pay Rate: $24.48/hour
Duration: Appointment through June 30, 2026, with opportunity to renew.
Position Summary:
Baruch College’s Educational Technology Office is seeking a part‑time Educational Technology Specialist to help faculty effectively use Baruch’s licensed software and applications, focusing on the Brightspace Learning Management System (LMS) and its integrated tools. The specialist will assist with troubleshooting, training, and course setup on Brightspace, ensuring an intuitive and accessible instructional experience for faculty and students. The specialist will also guide faculty on following Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) when creating learning materials to be distributed to students on the LMS or elsewhere.
This position will report to Baruch College’s LMS Administrator.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to Baruch faculty using the Brightspace LMS, assisting with course shell creation, manual user enrollment requests, and troubleshooting.
- Guide faculty on WCAG 2.2 accessibility guidelines and the creation of accessible online course materials, including web pages, text documents, multimedia files, and more.
- Respond to and resolve LMS‑related support tickets via the college’s Service Now ticketing system or other support channels.
- Collaborate with Baruch’s Ed Tech team in supporting other platforms, as needed.
Qualifications:
- Experience with Brightspace LMS or other Learning Management System required.
- Background in application support.
- Familiarity with ADA Title II compliance standards and WCAG 2.2 guidelines, as well as accessibility checking tools for web pages, PDFs, and other applications.
- Experience writing technical documentation and tutorials.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
