The YMCA of Greater New York is seeking a Workday Implementation & System Support Lead who will be responsible for leading post-implementation stabilization, ongoing system support, and continuous improvement of the Workday platform. This role serves as the central IT owner for Workday, ensuring clear system governance, effective issue triage, strong change management controls, and reliable day-to-day operations across HCM, Time Tracking, Payroll, and Financials.
This position partners closely with HR, Finance, Treasury, Payroll, IT, and external vendors to ensure Workday supports organizational operations while meeting nonprofit compliance, control, and reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities Workday System Support & Operations- Serve as the primary IT lead for post-go-live stabilization and long-term steady-state Workday support.
- Triage, prioritize, and manage all Workday issues, enhancements, and defects through Jira and the IT helpdesk, ensuring timely resolution and communication.
- Support end users, IT leadership, and executive/Board-level stakeholders by ensuring system reliability, data accuracy, and clear escalation paths.
- Manage Workday tenant administration and environment controls, including security role coordination and access oversight.
- Own Workday configuration governance, ensuring changes follow established controls, approvals, and change-management processes.
- Support Business Process Framework and Business Process Configuration (BPC) updates in partnership with functional owners.
- Manage configuration adjustments related to Finance, Payroll, and HR changes.
- Evaluate, document, and prioritize feature requests in collaboration with business stakeholders.
- Partner closely with HR, Finance, Treasury, Payroll, and IT to support organizational changes, policy updates, and evolving business needs.
- Act as the primary IT liaison to Workday vendors and implementation partners, particularly during the first 3 months of post-go-live.
- Coordinate with Treasury and Finance teams when system changes impact financial controls, reporting, or downstream processes.
- Support standard and custom Workday reports, including troubleshooting, enhancements, and end-user guidance.
- Ensure data integrity through reconciliation support, audit assistance, and validation processes.
- Lead and coordinate testing for fixes, enhancements, and Workday quarterly releases, including regression and UAT testing.
- Support release readiness activities, including impact assessments, testing schedules, and deployment coordination.
- Support Workday Studio integrations and jobs to ensure accurate, efficient, and timely data processing.
- Maintain and manage internal Workday documentation, including system guides, process documentation, and configuration references.
- Clearly communicate and reinforce where information, processes, and resources are located in Workday through well-maintained documentation and effective training materials.
- Develop and manage training schedules and support ongoing end-user enablement in partnership with functional teams, as needed.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience required.
- Five (5) – eight (8) years of experience supporting or implementing enterprise ERP systems. Workday experience strongly preferred.
- Workday HCM, Payroll, and Financial Management certifications required. Additional certifications in Time Tracking, Reporting, Security, or Integrations preferred.
- Direct experience with post-go-live stabilization and steady-state ERP support.
- Strong hands-on experience supporting Workday in a post-implementation environment.
- Knowledge of Workday HCM, Time Tracking, Payroll, and Financial Management.
- Experience supporting Workday reporting, configuration changes, and tenant management.
- Strong understanding of IT service management, issue triage, and support workflows (Jira, helpdesk tools).
