Position: Intern – Network Operations (Summer 2026)
Location: New York

Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP is looking for Network Operations Interns to join our 2026 Summer Internship program to support the Information Technology department. Willkie is an elite international law firm with approximately 1,300 lawyers across 16 offices in six countries.

The Network Operations Intern will participate in various projects and work alongside the network operation team performing operational daily tasks, project related configurations and proactive monitoring. The ideal candidate will be in the process of pursuing an undergraduate degree in Network Systems, Computer Science, or Cyber Security. Candidates should be intellectually curious and seeking opportunities to learn and gain exposure to enterprise technology.

This is a great opportunity to gain valuable hands‑on IT experience in a law firm environment. Candidates should be willing to work 35 hours weekly starting June 2026 through August 2026 for 10 weeks, with the possibility to extend into the academic year. Dates to be announced once finalized.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Operations Team with day‑to‑day IT support tasks, including troubleshooting basic hardware and software issues, monitoring server performance, and helping maintain uninterrupted network service.
  • Support user account administration by creating, modifying, and disabling accounts in Active Directory under the guidance of senior team members, while learning established service level procedures.
  • Gain hands‑on exposure to enterprise IT infrastructure, including network monitoring tools, backup systems, and virtualized server environments, while providing assistance on migration, upgrade, and maintenance projects as assigned.
  • Additional duties as requested.
Qualifications
  • Ability to work from June through August.
  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree or interest in Network Systems, Computer Science, or Cyber Security.
  • Proficiency in Python, Power Shell or other scripting/automation a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
ADA Requirements
  • Ability to sit at a desk most of the working day and walk short distances.
  • Needs manual dexterity, speed and accuracy in handling office equipment.
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately in an atmosphere of frequent interruption.
  • Ability to work in close proximity to other individuals.
  • Ability to moderate objects, e.g., files, small objects and supplies a short distance.
  • Must be able to lift, carry and move objects up to 25 lbs.

Pay Range

USD $20.00 - USD $22.00 /Hr.

Pay Range Statement

The salary range for this role represents the Firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications and location. This position is a part‑time hourly role and benefits eligibility will be more limited.
