Business Intelligence Developer (Power BI / SAP BO / Tableau) Role Overview
EXL is seeking a Business Intelligence Developer to support enterprise reporting and analytics initiatives for a key client. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable dashboards and reporting solutions that enable data-driven decision-making across the organization.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical BI expertise with the ability to partner effectively with business stakeholders in a structured, enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and define KPIs and success metrics
- Design, develop, and enhance dashboards and reports using Power BI, SAP Business Objects, and Tableau
- Develop and optimize datasets, semantic models, and reporting layers to support scalable analytics
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries for accurate and efficient data retrieval
- Perform report validation, data reconciliation, and quality checks to ensure reporting accuracy
- Maintain documentation including KPI definitions, data dictionaries, metadata, and data lineage
- Ensure adherence to BI governance standards, naming conventions, and reporting controls
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reporting efficiency and performance
- 3–6+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Reporting, or Data Analytics
- Hands‑on expertise with Power BI, SAP BO, and/or Tableau
- Strong SQL skills and solid understanding of data modeling concepts (e.g., star schema, fact/dimension tables)
- Experience developing enterprise‑grade dashboards and semantic data models
- Working knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and reporting controls
- Strong analytical thinking and ability to translate data into business insights
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience working in enterprise or regulated environments
- Exposure to data warehousing platforms (SQL Server, Snowflake, SAP HANA, etc.)
- Experience supporting client‑facing or consulting environments

Expected Hours of WorkEmployees are required to work 40 hours per week. This role may require more than 40 hours per week and/or weekends
Base Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year, commensurate with experience. This range is provided as a general guideline and may vary based on qualifications, skills, and location.
