InformationTechnology Services Division (ITSD) Overview
The Information Technology Services Division (ITSD) oversees critical projects and technological initiatives within the NYPD. They maintain and enhance the department’s IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and workstations. ITSD has rolled out various advancements, such as equipping officers with cellular phone applications and digitizing department forms to improve efficiency.
Duties- Perform SQL Server database administration functions, including maintenance of multiple environments (development, testing, and production), patching, troubleshooting, SSIS & SSRS deployments and security management.
- Monitor and analyze data platforms to ensure database is available, secure, healthy, efficient and recoverable as per expectations.
- Implement and manage the physical databases of mission critical systems capacity planning to determine future storage needs.
- Collaborate with application owners to develop a seamless process to migrate their schema and data to data platform.
- Partner with development and quality assurance teams to deliver robust, quality and on‑time solutions.
- Build and manage HA & DR architecture like Clustering, Replication and Always on.

Minimum Qualifications
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory full‑time experience related to projects and policies required by the particular position; or, education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" above.
Preferred Skills- Strong understanding of database structures, principles and practices. Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2016/2017/2019/20202.
- Proficiency in SQL Server installation, configuration, patching and database back‑up/recovery.
- Knowledgeable with Windows server, Security delegation, Storage components.
- Solid knowledge of SQL Server HADR Solution, Data Replication, SSIS and SSRS.
