Proskauer is seeking an Innovation Specialist (“Specialist”), based in the New York or Boston offices. The Specialist will work with the Innovation Team to support the initiation, implementation and integration of innovation initiatives and related practice technology to enhance the quality and efficiency of the Firm’s legal services.
The Innovation Team partners with stakeholders across the firm to identify opportunities to enhance and optimise legal service delivery. These opportunities are developed into tools and processes that support more customised and efficient client solutions. The Innovation Specialist collaborates with professionals in Knowledge Management, Data Strategy, Legal Project Management, Infrastructure, Information Security, Applications, Practice Management, and Client Development, as well as other business services teams.
The Specialist also supports practice‑specific administrative teams in their use of practice technology aligned with strategic goals. This role focuses on helping to investigate and build or implement innovative solutions and legal technologies that meet the evolving needs of our lawyers and clients.
- Support the implementation and rollout of practice technology and innovation initiatives, including tools for contract analysis, document automation, task and matter management, and client collaboration.
- Assist with the evaluation and testing of new legal technologies, including applications powered by artificial intelligence.
- Help gather feedback from lawyers and legal staff on innovation needs and ideas to share with the broader Innovation Team.
- Assist legal teams in adopting new technologies by coordinating onboarding efforts and answering user questions.
- Conduct and support training sessions for end users on new or existing legal technology tools.
- Provide administrative and coordination support for innovation projects, including scheduling, maintaining documentation, and tracking progress against key milestones.
- Maintain clear records of project goals, feedback, and user requirements to inform future development or improvement efforts.
- Collaborate with departments such as Knowledge Management, Legal Project Management, Practice Management, Infrastructure and Info Sec to help ensure successful execution of innovation projects.
- 3‑4 years of professional experience with at least 2 years in a law firm or legal technology function.
- Strong interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills.
- Interest in legal technology, process improvement, and/or user experience design.
- Familiarity with legal or business technology tools (e.g., document automation, e‑signature, collaboration platforms) is helpful but not required.
- Eagerness to learn, comfort working in a fast‑paced team environment, and a proactive approach to tasks.
This position will require physical presence in Proskauer’s offices on a regular basis (at least 3x per week, or more, if it becomes the policy of the Firm or as business needs require). The anticipated compensation for this position is $80,000 - $100,000. The actual salary offered will be based on a number of factors including but not limited to the qualifications of the applicant, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licences held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
