Business Analyst - Investment Banking

EXL is seeking a mid-level Business Analyst to support strategic transformation initiatives within a leading Investment Banking client. This role will work at the intersection of business, risk, and technology — partnering directly with client stakeholders to translate complex trade and risk processes into scalable technology solutions.

This is a client-facing consulting role requiring strong analytical capability, structured thinking, and the ability to operate independently in fast-paced banking environments.

• Lead client workshops and discovery sessions to gather, validate, and refine business requirements.
• Translate Trade Lifecycle and Risk workflows into structured documentation (BRDs, FRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria).
• Analyze current-state processes and recommend operational, risk, or automation improvements.
• Act as a liaison between client stakeholders and EXL delivery teams to ensure alignment and clarity.
• Support Agile delivery cycles, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and requirement prioritization.
• Lead and support UAT planning, test case development, defect triage, and go-live readiness.
• Ensure solutions align with regulatory, risk, and operational control frameworks.

• 4–7 years of Business Analysis experience within Investment Banking or Capital Markets.
• Working knowledge of Trade Lifecycle and/or Risk Management processes.
• Experience operating in client-facing consulting environments.
• Strong requirement documentation and process mapping skills.
• Experience working in Agile frameworks (JIRA, Confluence).
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage business and technology stakeholders.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving ability.

• Experience supporting Front Office, Middle Office, or Risk Reporting initiatives.
• Exposure to asset classes such as derivatives, fixed income, or equities.
• Familiarity with SQL or data analysis tools.

Employees are required to work 40 hours per week. This role may require more than 40 hours per week and/or weekends

Salary: $110,000 - $135,000 per year, commensurate with experience. This range is provided as a general guideline and may vary based on qualifications, skills, and location.
