Job Summary

BNY is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join the Middle Office Data & Channels team. This team delivers innovative data solutions that support the data backbone of Middle Office products, serving both internal users and external clients across a broad range of use cases. This role will operate within one of the Data & Channel Pods, partnering closely with product leaders and engineers to define new data-driven product features.

The individual will gather and document requirements, define epics and user stories, support functional validation, and help drive delivery within an Agile framework. This is a hybrid role based in NYC (preferred), Lake Mary, FL, or Pittsburgh, PA, with an onsite expectation of 2–3 days per week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Requirements Definition:
    Partner with Middle Office product teams, engineering, and stakeholders to define detailed business and data requirements for new product features.
  • Data Solution Design Support:
    Define data sets, analyze data sourcing needs, and contribute to high-level solution design for data-driven initiatives.
  • Agile Delivery & Story Writing:
    Create and manage epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria within Jira. Participate actively in Agile ceremonies and sprint planning.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    Lead and facilitate meetings with business, technology, operations, and occasionally clients to gather requirements and align on priorities.
  • Engineering

    Collaboration:

    Work closely with pod engineers to clarify requirements, refine stories, and support deployment activities.
  • Feature Validation & Testing Support:
    Assist with functional testing, validation, and ensuring features meet defined acceptance criteria.
  • Client Interaction:
    Engage directly with clients when required, including onboarding-related initiatives and data solution discussions.
  • Strategic Initiative Support:
    Contribute to large-scale, multi-year strategic data initiatives supporting Middle Office modernization efforts.
Qualifications
  • 7–10+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Product Owner
  • Strong background in data management and data flows within financial services
  • Experience defining business requirements and writing user stories in Agile environments
  • Experience working within investment management, asset servicing, or broader financial services
  • Proven stakeholder management and meeting facilitation skills
  • Experience collaborating with engineering teams to deliver data solutions
  • Proficiency with Jira, MS Office Suite, and Excel
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Bachelor’s degree
Preferred Experience
  • High-level solution design experience
  • Direct client interaction experience
  • Familiarity with AI tools
  • Experience with Figma
  • Product Owner experience within Middle Office data environments

Pay Rate Range

95.2 - 119 USD hourly
