🧬 We’re building a self-driving laboratory in NYC.
I’m partnering with a well-funded, early-stage deep-tech company reinventing how new materials are discovered - combining AI, robotics, and fully autonomous lab systems.
They’ve raised significant seed funding and are now hiring a:
Technical Program Manager – Autonomous Materials Lab
This is not a roadmap-and-status-update TPM role.
This is a deeply technical execution role for someone who has actually built and deployed real automation systems.
- End-to-end delivery of an autonomous lab platform (concept → deployment → iteration)
- Integration across robotics, lab instruments, orchestration software, and data workflows
- Coordination across controls, perception, mechanical, software, and science teams
- Translating scientific goals into technical requirements, validation plans, and throughput targets
- Driving milestones, dependencies, and risk in a fast-paced R&D environment
You’ll operate as the connective tissue between hardware, software, and scientific execution.
- 5+ years in Technical Program Management, Systems Engineering, or Technical Product Management
- Proven experience managing complex hardware + software programs
- Strong understanding of robotics, automation systems, and system integration
Ideal Backgrounds:
- Helped design and build a working robotics or automation system
- Seen systems through real-world implementation and deployment
- Understand the solutions landscape (off-the-shelf vs custom)
This is a rare opportunity to join a small, elite team building at the frontier of robotics + physical science - based in Brooklyn Navy Yard.
If you’ve shipped real automation systems and want full ownership in an autonomous R&D environment, I’d love to connect.
