Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Unix/Linux Systems Administrator to provide rapid incident response and support for both Change-the-Bank and Run-the-Bank initiatives. This role involves advanced system tuning, standardization, automation, and collaboration with engineering teams and external vendors. The position also requires participation in a global follow-the-sun support model, including some weekend and after-hours work.

Responsibilities

• Provide rapid incident response and dedicated support for global Unix infrastructure.
• Perform advanced system tuning based on application-specific requirements.
• Drive system standardization and automation initiatives.
• Ensure Unix environments remain compliant with organizational technology roadmaps (OS upgrades, hardware refresh, 3rd-party software upgrades, etc.).
• Collaborate closely with Unix engineering teams and external vendors.
• Interface with IT and business stakeholders across all organizational levels.
• Participate in global 24x7 support model, including weekend/after-hours change windows as needed.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of Linux administration experience (SLES, OEL, RHEL) and Unix (Solaris):
• System upgrades, patching, configuration management
• Performance management, troubleshooting, analysis
• Capacity planning
• 5+ years hands-on experience with Veritas tools (VCS, Volume Manager) on Solaris and Linux.
• Experience working with enterprise storage technologies (e.g., EMC or equivalent).
• Strong TCP/IP networking knowledge and advanced system tuning skills.
• Experience with network topology, firewalled environments, and layered product installation.
• Strong background in ITSM processes and incident/change management.
• Proficiency in Perl and Shell scripting to automate operational tasks.
