Position: Program Manager, Sub Same-Day
Location: New York

We are expanding our Sub Same-Day network in Japan and need leaders in Program Management to drive scalable improvements across fulfillment centers, supply chain, and last-mile delivery. You will manage initiatives related to new integrations at SSD sites and lead continuous improvement initiatives that directly impact customer delivery speed and reliability. This role offers the opportunity to join the growth of our rapidly expanding network and solve complex operational challenges in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Summary

This role presents a unique opportunity to drive Amazon's ambitious goals for expanding and optimizing our SSD network in Japan. The successful candidate will lead programs, partnerships, and innovations to strategically grow our Sub Same Day delivery capabilities, ensuring best-in-class speed, coverage, and customer experience. You will drive robust planning processes and data-driven decision-making to create a positive impact on Amazon's SSD offerings in Japan through network expansion and topology optimization.

You will partner closely with multiple functional teams and stakeholder groups, including Supply Chain, Real Estate, Tech teams, Transportation Network Planning, Middle Mile teams, Retail Delivery Experience, and Customer Service. The ability to influence without authority and execute with speed will be critical to success in this role. The ideal candidate should possess:

  • A successful track record of managing complex network expansion projects in logistics or related fields
  • Strong analytical and business acumen with a focus on network design and process optimization
  • Experience in managing multiple stakeholder teams simultaneously
  • Impactful communication skills

We're seeking a self-starter who will take ownership of network improvement and expansion challenges to create successful partnerships across stakeholder groups, driving strategy and execution to achieve SSD network growth goals at the right cost, while maintaining unparalleled customer experience.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute SSD/AMZL+ process improvement and network expansion strategies, set priorities, and communicate effectively across business partners and stakeholders
  • Ideate, define, and drive the planning of network topology and process improvement initiatives for Amazon's SSD network by partnering with stakeholder groups to optimize delivery speed, coverage, and customer experience
  • Translate customer needs, market trends, and business requirements into a logical sequence for network expansion, mapping our roadmap and program initiatives to measurable business value
  • Conduct comprehensive analysis of current network performance, market potential, and future growth projections to inform new strategic initiatives
  • Collaborate with Retail and Supply Chain organizations to understand and measure the impact of network expansion efforts on overall SSD offerings
  • Partner with teams across various regions and geographies to understand, adapt, and implement best practices for SSD network design and expansion in Japan
  • Design and conduct pilot projects to test new configurations, gather learnings, and implement the most feasible, cost-effective, and scalable solutions for SSD network
  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities and efficiency gains in UTR and OTR processes, working across stakeholder functions to execute initiatives at scale
  • Collaborate with business analytics and customer delivery experience teams to develop and standardize KPIs, reports, and reviews that drive effective improvements
  • Establish and maintain strong mechanisms to manage quantitative and qualitative performance metrics for network effectiveness, ensuring continuous improvement in SSD operations
Basic Qualifications
  • 5+ years of program or project management experience
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
