ML Research Scientist (Researcher)
Fidi, NYC (hybrid 3-4 days onsite)
Fulltime permanent role
Goal:
Solve the hardest problem in AI:
Teaching machines to be genuinely creative.
You will:
- Invent new methods beyond pattern matching to build creative reasoning and artistic decision-making
- Build models that generalize and create across a variety of mediums – design, commercials, films, storytelling, and undiscovered formats
- Develop bitter-lesson-aligned ML models for computational creativity
- Access lots of GPUs to test ideas and scale from concept to superhuman creative capability
- Work with world-class artists to understand and encode the essence of human genius
- Push AI beyond optimization to create new frontiers of what humans can imagine and create
Candidate Background:
- Ability to invent new methods from scratch, requiring deep knowledge of ML fundamentals (math, probability, optimization) rather than just applying existing GenAI frameworks.
- PhD in Computer Science or Machine Learning preferred. Exceptional candidates with an MSc and a significant history of high-impact research will be considered.
- Proven ability to advance the state of the art, evidenced by multiple peer-reviewed papers at top venues like NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, or AAAI.
