Office of the Vice Provost and Dean of Undergraduate Education ( VPUE ) seeks to hire a Senior Programmer Analyst to support EAB Navigate. The Sr. Programmer Analyst will be responsible for managing the technical and data aspects of this system. The Sr. Programmer Analyst will work with colleagues across campus to ensure operational continuity, system enhancement, security, compliance, data, access, and reporting in Navigate.
This position will report directly to the Assistant Dean, Chief Student Retention Officer.
Key accountabilities and responsibilities:
- Technology Application Administration – Serve as the system programming, configuration, functionality, workflow, and data administrator for the university’s student success management system, EAB Navigate;
Support change management, testing cycles, and release coordination as it relates to Navigate and other UB systems impacted by Navigate. - Reporting & Data Administration – Responsible for translating university student success and retention functional needs into Navigate workflow configuration/development/test, data structure management, reporting/query development, and resolving complex technical challenges within the digital and app-based system training and production environments.
- University Systems Integration & Security Compliance:
Support the development and maintenance of connecting Navigate
360 to other UB systems;
Administer user roles and permissions; ensure FERPA and institutional compliance.

Minimum Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years of related work experience in a higher education context.
- Experience with digital desktop/mobile systems (e.g., Navigate, RNL Student Success, Salesforce, etc.)
- Technical skills in database management, SQL , HTML , Tableau.
- Business needs analysis and process design skills
- Advanced written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, demonstrating respect for diverse constituents.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in computer science, information systems management, higher education, or related field, with five or more years of related work experience in a higher education context.
- Hands-on technical management experience administering EAB Navigate or a similar system in a large university setting.
Salary Range $90,000 - $95,000
