The Engineering Marketing Platforms group is where Bloomberg’s revenue pipeline begins. We partner closely with Marketing and Sales to build and operate the systems that identify and capture high-value business opportunities. These platforms often power users’ first interactions with Bloomberg—tracking engagement in marketing initiatives and managing the sales interactions that follow.

Within this group, the Outreach & Infra team is a highly skilled group of engineers focused on reliability, scalability, and operational excellence. We ensure the resilient delivery of over 100 Bloomberg marketing websites and applications serving millions of users globally. Leveraging AWS cloud services, we architect and manage the full infrastructure lifecycle — including DNS, CDNs, load balancing, cloud security, compute, container platforms, and CI/CD systems.

We’re looking for a Cloud Engineer who is passionate about building and operating highly reliable distributed systems  this role, you’ll be responsible for improving availability, performance, scalability, and observability across our platforms. You’ll work at the intersection of software engineering and infrastructure, applying automation, monitoring, and operational best practices to ensure our systems are secure, performant, and always available. Our most successful engineers are collaborative, data-driven, and take strong ownership of production systems end-to-end.

  • Design, implement, and operate highly available, scalable, and resilient cloud infrastructure
  • Define and measure SLIs/SLOs, and drive reliability improvements through error budgets and data
  • Improve observability through logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting best practices
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, deployments, and operational workflows using Infrastructure as Code
  • Lead incident response, conduct root cause analysis (RCA), and drive post-incident improvements
  • Optimize system performance, reliability, and cost efficiency across AWS environments
  • Strengthen platform security through proactive monitoring, vulnerability management, and cloud security best practices
  • Partner with software engineers and stakeholders to improve system reliability and operational maturity
  • Continuously improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
You’ll Need To Have
  • 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Dev Ops, or Cloud Infrastructure roles
  • 5+ Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language (Python, Go, or Shell)
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience defining and managing SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets
  • Strong experience operating production systems in AWS at scale
  • Strong background in monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Cloud Watch, Datadog)
  • Experience leading production incident management and postmortems
  • Hands‑on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or Cloud Formation).
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, networking fundamentals (DNS, CDN, load balancers), and cloud architecture
  • Experience managing containerized workloads (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Knowledge of AWS networking (VPCs, routing, security groups, WAF, etc.)
  • Experience with cloud cost optimization strategies
  • AWS certification (Associate level or above)
  • A security‑first mindset and familiarity with compliance best practices
  • Experience using metrics and operational data to drive continuous improvement
