Client is a technology-first proprietary trading firm operating in high-frequency markets since 2011. The firm builds fast, robust, and highly optimised trading systems across multiple asset classes, where engineering precision directly impacts P&L.
Its edge comes from strong quantitative research, deep understanding of market micro-structure, and disciplined low-latency infrastructure. Clean code, reliable systems, and measurable performance are core principles — because at Client, small improvements compound.
Engineers and researchers work closely together, solve complex problems, and see their work move markets in real time.
The OpportunityClient is seeking a Business Development Manager to serve as its on-ground anchor in the United States, leading infrastructure partnerships, exchange relationships, and operational build-out across key trading hubs. This includes supporting the establishment of the firm’s initial Manhattan presence through location evaluation, vendor coordination, and seamless operational readiness.
This is a high-impact, build-from-scratch mandate — not a maintenance role.
The individual will work closely with quant and trading teams based in India, Dubai, and Singapore while establishing strong local ownership across infrastructure, exchange connectivity, and vendor ecosystems in the US.
Key Markets & Ecosystem CoverageThe role will focus on deep engagement across CME, CBOE, and the New Jersey exchange corridor. Strong familiarity with major colocation setups, including the New Jersey colocation ecosystem and broader exchange infrastructure landscape, is essential.
Core Mandate- Build and maintain strong working relationships with exchanges and key stakeholders.
- Engage proactively with exchange relationship managers to optimize connectivity, market access, and commercial structures.
- Develop and manage relationships with colocation providers, hardware vendors, and network partners.
- Act as the bridge between internal technology teams and external exchanges/vendors, ensuring technical requirements are clearly defined, aligned, and executed accurately.
- Lead end-to-end evaluation of colocation strategy across US exchanges.
- Assess and recommend infrastructure architectures that improve performance while optimizing cost.
- Explore alternatives to traditional fiber and microwave setups.
- Evaluate hybrid connectivity models that create measurable latency and cost advantages.
- Partner with internal quant and technology teams to align infrastructure design with trading strategy requirements.
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in business development, exchange relations, or infrastructure-focused roles within proprietary trading, HFT, or institutional trading environments.
- Working knowledge of colocation environments.
- Familiarity with exchange connectivity, hardware procurement cycles, and network optimization strategies.
- Ability to independently drive initiatives in an unstructured, greenfield setup.
- High-ownership mindset with comfort operating without legacy processes.
- This is a build-phase mandate, not a steady-state role.
- Direct influence over how Client structures its US trading infrastructure.
- Opportunity to shape exchange relationships and commercial frameworks from day one.
- Meaningful strategic exposure until the US leadership structure is fully established.
