We are seeking a skilled SQL Database Engineer / Administrator to design, maintain, optimize, and secure relational database systems that support business‑critical applications. The role focuses on performance, availability, data integrity, and scalability across production and non‑production environments.
Key Responsibilities- Design, implement, and manage SQL database environments
- Monitor and optimize database performance, queries, and indexing
- Ensure high availability, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery
- Manage database security
, access control, and compliance - Perform database tuning, capacity planning, and upgrades
- Troubleshoot database issues and resolve production incidents
- Support application teams with schema design and query optimization
- Automate database tasks using scripts and tools
- Maintain documentation and operational runbooks
- Participate in on‑call support and incident response
Skills & Qualifications
- 3–8+ years of experience working with SQL databases
- Strong hands‑on experience with:
- Microsoft SQL Server and/or Postgre
SQL / MySQL / Oracle - Strong knowledge of:
- Indexing strategies and execution plans
- Experience with:
- Backup & recovery
- Replication and clustering
- Performance monitoring and tuning
- Understanding of ACID principles and relational data modeling
- Experience in Linux and/or Windows environments
- Familiarity with version control and change management
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
- High availability setups (Always On, replication, failover clusters)
- Automation using Power Shell, Python, or Bash
- Experience with ETL / data pipelines
- Exposure to Dev Ops / CI-CD environments
- Knowledge of compliance standards (SOX, PCI, HIPAA)
