Our energy/utility client is establishing a new Google Cloud foundation to support enterprise-scale data, analytics, and emerging agentic AI capabilities. We are seeking a senior, hands-on Lead Architect to serve as the first technical leader on this initiative.

This role is critical to defining the initial cloud and data architecture, establishing best practices, and working closely with senior stakeholders to shape our energy/utility client’s broader Google Cloud adoption strategy.

• Design and implement the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) foundational architecture, with a primary focus on Big Query.
• Define reference architectures, data patterns, and best practices for scalable, secure, and governed data platforms.
• Establish ingestion, transformation, and analytics patterns aligned to enterprise data needs.
• Ensure alignment with security, compliance, and enterprise IT standards.

• Architect and support agentic and generative AI capabilities using Vertex AI.
• Define integration patterns between AI services and data platforms.
• Enable experimentation and production-grade AI workflows.

• Act as the primary technical authority for Google Cloud.
• Engage senior business and technology stakeholders.
• Provide architectural guidance and mentorship.

• Establish architectural standards and documentation.
• Support early delivery while enabling long-term platform sustainability.

• 10+ years of experience in cloud and data architecture.
• Deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform and Big Query.
• Hands-on experience with Vertex AI or AI/ML platforms.
• Strong understanding of data governance and enterprise architecture.

• Experience leading greenfield or foundational initiatives.
• Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Experience in utilities or regulated industries.
• Familiarity with agentic AI patterns.
• Onsite client-facing experience.

This is a high-impact, foundational role shaping our energy/utility client’s Google Cloud journey and long-term adoption strategy.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.

At Fractal, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is: $120,000 - $180,000. In addition, for the current performance period, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus.

As a full-time employee of the company or as an hourly employee working more than 30 hours per week, you will be eligible to participate in the health, dental, vision, life insurance, and disability plans in accordance with the plan documents, which may be amended from time to time. You will be eligible for benefits on the first day of employment with the Company.
