Location: New York

Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 9:00 AM–2:00 PM (20 hours per week)
Job Type: Part-Time, Temporary (through June 30, 2026)
Pay Rate: $25 per hour
The Program Assistant will support the ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) Program by providing administrative, data management, and participant support services. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, culturally responsive, and committed to serving diverse immigrant communities.
Qualifications Education- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Education, or a related field required (or equivalent professional experience).
- Prior experience with data entry, documentation, and recordkeeping required.
- Experience working in education, workforce development, or community-based programs preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
- Cultural sensitivity and demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations.
- Proficiency in an additional language (e.g., Russian, Spanish, French, or Arabic) highly desirable.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and database systems.
- Ensure intake forms are completed accurately and thoroughly.
- Enter and maintain participant data in the DYCD Connect database (ESOL Discretionary contract).
- Create and maintain organized student files (paper and electronic).
- Prepare and distribute class sign-in sheets.
- Track and update attendance daily and case notes regularly.
- Conduct outreach to students with attendance concerns and support them in addressing barriers to participation.
- Prepare reports related to participant outcomes and service delivery, as required.
- Assist with conducting initial participant assessments to identify needs, goals, and potential barriers.
- Collect, verify, and maintain accurate participant documentation in compliance with contract requirements.
- Collaborate with the ESOL team to connect participants to internal and external resources, including housing, healthcare, legal services, employment, and educational opportunities.
