About Vantage
At Vantage, we’re passionate about building a cloud cost transparency platform that helps enable everyone – from developers to enterprises – analyze, report, collaborate on and optimize their cloud infrastructure costs. Both our CEO (a repeat founder) and CTO are passionate about cloud infrastructure. Having worked together at Digital Ocean, they are taking their combined knowledge to build and scale the Vantage platform.
Together we are a high‑output team of ~50 employees based out of New York City (but embrace a remote‑friendly lifestyle).
Our current customers include Square, Fan Duel, Barstool Sports, Planetscale, Vercel and Temporal. Vantage is also well capitalized and backed by outstanding top‑tier investors including Andreessen Horowitz, Scale Ventures, Matthew Prince (Co‑Founder, Cloudflare), Calvin French Owen (Co‑Founder, Segment), Ben and Moisey Uretsky (Co‑Founders, Digital Ocean), Stephanie and Nat Friedman (CEO, Git Hub), Julia Lipton, Brianne Kimmel and others.
AboutThe Role
As a Solutions Architect, you will work hands‑on with Vantage’s most strategic and technically complex customers to ensure successful adoption and long‑term value. This is a highly technical, customer‑facing role focused on implementation, architecture, and problem‑solving, rather than pure support or customer success. You’ll embed directly with customers during onboarding and expansion moments, helping design cloud cost allocation models, integrate complex data providers, and unblock technical challenges, while also feeding customer insights and feedback to Product and Engineering.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working close to customers, understands cloud infrastructure deeply, and wants to influence both customer outcomes and product direction.
- Partner with customers to understand their cloud environments and cost‑management goals, acting as a trusted technical advisor to customers’ engineering, Fin Ops, and finance stakeholders.
- Design and implement scalable cost allocation and tagging strategies across complex environments, including multi‑cloud and Kubernetes.
- Support technical onboarding for complex accounts, partnering closely with Customer Success on advanced use cases.
- Debug and resolve data ingestion, tagging, and reporting issues in collaboration with Support and Engineering.
- Build custom solutions, queries, and workflows using Vantage’s APIs, exports, and integrations to unblock customer needs.
- Surface recurring customer pain points and edge cases to Product and Engineering, contributing to internal tooling, documentation, and repeatable implementation patterns.
- 5+ years in a technical, customer‑facing role (Solutions Architect, Forward Deployed Engineer, Technical Consultant, Sales Engineer, or similar).
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure) and modern data stacks.
- Experience working with cost data, billing exports, usage metrics, or large datasets.
- Comfortable writing SQL and/or Python for analysis, troubleshooting, or automation.
- Excellent communicator who can explain technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- High ownership mindset and comfort operating in ambiguity.
- A kind person.
- Experience building and deploying to cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.), and/or experience provisioning and updating services via Terraform.
- Experience with Fin Ops, cloud billing, or cost allocation models.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, Snowflake, Datadog, or similar tools Vantage integrates with.
- Background in post‑sales, onboarding, or implementation for a B2B SaaS company.
The estimated annual U.S. base salary range for this role is $125,000 - $175,000.
