Position Summary :

SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is currently seeking a highly skilled Cloud Architect/Engineer preferably with extensive experience in Amazon Web Services (AWS). In this role, you will playa critical role in designing, implementing, and managing our cloud infrastructure to support our organization's digital transformation and scalability goals.

Essential Functions

• Design,deploy,and maintain
  
  AWS-basedcloudsolutionsthataresecure,scalable,andcost- effective.
• Collaboratewithcross-functionalteamstoassessbusinessrequirementsanddevelopcloudarchitecture strategies.
• Ensurecompliancewithsecuritybestpracticesandindustry standards.
• Optimizeandmonitorcloudresourcestominimizecostswhilemaintaining performance.
• Troubleshootandresolvecloud-relatedissuesand incidents.
• Stayupdatedon
  
  AWSservicesandtechnologies,recommendingandimplementingnewsolutionsas appropriate.
• Ensures product roadmap aligns with the company's platforms, both on-premise and cloud.

Qualifications:

• Provenexperienceasa Cloud Architect /Engineerwithafocuson AWS. AWS certifications,suchas
  
  AWS Certified Solutions Architect ,are highly desirable.
• Strongknowledgeof
  
  AWS services,including
  
  EC2,S3,RDS,Lambda,and VPC.
• Experiencewithinfrastructureascode(IAC) toolslike
  
  Terraformor Cloud Formation.
• Excellent problem-solving skills andtheabilitytoworkinafast-paced,collaborative environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field oror equivalent work experience.
