The HPD-Known objectives are fulfilled through Housing Our Neighbors: A Blueprint for Housing and Homelessness. The agency has committed funding to support housing initiatives and reduce barriers to housing access.

Housing Preservation & Development Technology (HPD Tech) is the IT division within HPD. The Office of HPD Tech leads the agency’s effort to transform HPD through technology by promoting productivity, eliminating manual processing, reducing costs, and increasing the pace of work. HPD Tech improves business processes using core applications for flawless execution and provides access to quality information to anticipate and pro-actively respond to building, neighborhood and market conditions.

The Office of HPDTech is composed of 9 units: CIO, Budget, Enterprise Architecture, Ideation, Infrastructure Network and Systems, Planning & Compliance, Product Area, Release & Service Management, and Security.

Your role is to assist the HPDTECH Cloud Administrator in day‑to‑day duties including maintaining the cloud environment, ensuring it stays up to date with patches, and optimizing for cost and performance. You will troubleshoot across the cloud environment and AVD instances, with a heavy focus on the Section 8 HAS Elite on AVD within Azure.

• Provision resources and maintain the cloud environment by adding new servers or databases as needed.
• Examine performance metrics, troubleshoot and correct issues to ensure high performance.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to communicate issues and resolve them quickly.
• Manage security for cloud environments by monitoring access requests and reviewing security logs.
• Maintain and upgrade cloud components and OS to ensure optimal performance and up-to-date patch levels.
• Manage Azure resources, including VMs, scale-sets, storage, Virtual Networks, databases, and other resources.
• Develop new features and functionality for existing systems while maintaining performance standards.
• Monitor system performance to meet business requirements and identify issues before they arise, recommending solutions.
• Provide technical support for the cloud computing platform to internal users.
• Provide technical backend and end-user support for Section 8 HAS Elite Published app.

• Ability to manage Azure cloud resources (VMs, scale-sets, storage, Virtual Networks, databases, etc.).
• Ability to provision resources and maintain the cloud environment by adding new servers or databases as needed.
• Ability to maintain and upgrade cloud environments and operating systems for optimal performance and security patch levels.
• Ability to examine performance metrics and troubleshoot cloud environments to ensure high performance and availability.
• Ability to manage security for cloud environments by monitoring access requests and reviewing security logs for suspicious activity.
• Monitor system performance to ensure it meets business requirements, identifying issues and recommending solutions.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to resolve issues quickly.
• Develop new features and functionality for existing systems while maintaining performance standards.
• Provide technical support for the cloud platform to internal users.
• Understand, monitor, and support Section8 HAS Elite System on AVD in Azure.

• Experience with Azure Virtual Desktop, Office 365, Teams, logs, CLI, Power Shell, and Log Analytics.
