AI Engineering Lead

A top global hedge fund with over 10BN in AUM is seeking an AI Engineering Lead with strong hands‑on experience across modern AI/ML techniques and a proven ability to lead teams from experimentation through production. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with strong software engineering skills and stays current with rapid advancements in the AI/ML ecosystem.

• Lead and mentor a team of AI/ML engineers
• Define the technical vision and roadmap for AI/ML initiatives
• Collaborate with stakeholders across research, analytics, and business teams to identify high‑impact opportunities
• Architect and build scalable AI/ML systems from prototyping to production
• Design and maintain AI/ML infrastructure, including feature stores, deployment pipelines, and monitoring systems
• Establish best practices for model development, evaluation, and lifecycle management
• Apply emerging AI/ML techniques to real‑world business problems
• Support hiring, onboarding, and professional development of team members

• Deep expertise in AI/ML, including LLMs, deep learning, and reinforcement learning
• Strong computer science fundamentals
• Advanced proficiency in Python and at least one additional language (e.g., Java, C++, C#)
• Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
• Hands‑on experience with LLM workflows such as prompt engineering, fine‑tuning, PEFT, and retrieval‑augmented generation
• Proven experience deploying and scaling machine learning models in production
• Strong background in MLOps and production ML infrastructure

• 3+ years of experience leading AI/ML engineering teams
• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and develop high‑performing teams
• Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
• Comfortable balancing hands‑on technical work with people and project leadership
