We are seeking a highly skilled Workday Architect to lead the strategic design and optimization of our Workday ecosystem. This role is a hybrid position based in our Manhattan, New York office, focusing on the critical intersection of Compensation, Payroll, Time, and Absence
.
As a key technical leader, you will be responsible for the architectural integrity of our global tenant, specifically leading a team of specialized contractors to execute high-impact optimization projects.
Key Responsibilities- Architectural Strategy: Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Workday architecture, focusing on the end-to-end configuration of Payroll, Compensation (Core & Advanced), Time Tracking, and Absence Management
. - Optimization Leadership: Lead a dedicated team of third-party contractors and consultants. You will define project scopes, govern technical standards, and ensure the successful delivery of system enhancements.
- System Design & Governance: Design scalable, global solutions for complex business processes, including gross-to-net processing, multi-state compliance, and automated time-entry workflows.
- Integration & Security Oversight: Collaborate with IT to ensure seamless data flow between Workday and external vendors, maintaining a robust security model and SOX-compliant audit trails.
- Release Management: Manage the bi-annual Workday release cycle. Lead impact analysis for the Payroll and Time modules to proactively adopt new features that drive operational efficiency.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, HR Information Systems, or a related field.
- Workday Expertise: 7+ years of hands-on experience with Workday, with at least 4 years in an Architect or Lead capacity.
- Deep Domain Knowledge: Proven track record of successful full-lifecycle implementations or major optimizations in Workday Payroll, Time Tracking, and Absence
. - Leadership: Experience managing external vendors or contract teams in an Agile environment.
- Location: Ability to work a hybrid schedule (typically 3 days onsite) in Manhattan, NY.
- Workday Certifications in Payroll, Time Tracking, or Compensation.
- Experience with Workday Extend or Prism Analytics.
- Familiarity with NYC and New York State payroll compliance and labor laws.
- Estimated Base Salary: $185,000 (commensurate with experience and NYC market rates).
