The Transfer Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring successful IPv4 address transfers between buyers and sellers. This position is ideal for a service-oriented professional with exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously.
In this role, you will manage transfers in progress using internal tracking systems, communicate closely with customers via email and phone, and guide both parties through the technical and administrative steps required to complete each transfer. You will develop detailed knowledge of Regional Internet Registry (RIR) processes and policies, monitor registry systems, and finalize transactions once transfers are complete.
Occasionally, this role may involve representing the organization at industry conferences and trade shows. Travel is generally less than 15% annually.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver best-in-class customer service throughout the entire transfer process
- Guide buyers and sellers through required steps to complete IPv4 transfers efficiently and accurately
- Manage and track multiple transfers simultaneously using internal systems
- Maintain detailed knowledge of RIR policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
- Monitor registry platforms to confirm transfer completion and ensure accuracy
- Coordinate the release and finalization of funds once transfers are completed
- Communicate clearly and consistently with customers to provide updates, resolve questions, and prevent delays
- Stay current on industry trends, policy changes, and best practices
- Represent the organization at conferences and industry events as needed
- Handle miscellaneous administrative and operational tasks as they arise
First 30 Days
- Complete onboarding and training to gain a strong working knowledge of the IPv4 market
- Learn internal sales, service, and delivery processes
- Complete online training related to registry systems and procedures
Ongoing Growth
- Gradually assume ownership of active transfers
- Build expertise in more complex transactions, including inter-regional transfers and deals with unique terms
- Expand responsibilities as business needs evolve and new opportunities arise
- Experience in a customer-facing role with a strong emphasis on service and relationship management
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong time management and critical thinking abilities
- Comfort working with process-driven, compliance-focused workflows
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel preferred
- Understanding of IPv4 or technical marketplaces is a plus, but not required (training provided)
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
- Additional language skills are a strong plus
