Vice President, Retail and Marketplace Analytics
As the VP Analytics for Retail and Marketplace, you will lead the agency’s analytics strategy, set vision, and guide a cross‑disciplinary team to deliver data‑driven insights that optimize client outcomes. You will also drive the evolution of the practice by developing best‑in‑class services and capabilities.
Responsibilities- Set vision and strategy for the Retail and Marketplace Analytics team, ensuring innovative offerings that address industry challenges and leverage emerging technology trends.
- Partner with Client Success, Growth teams and Capability Leaders to craft integrated solutions supporting clients’ business objectives. Grow analytics business within the Retail and Marketplace vertical.
- Ensure delivery excellence for the Retail and Marketplace client portfolio, leading teams in measurement roadmaps, data visualizations, media mix optimization, multi‑touch attribution, digital/TV attribution, customer segmentation/modeling, and AI/Gen AI applications.
- Lead recruiting, staffing, training and career development planning; cultivate a learning mindset to keep the team up to date with industry trends.
- 12+ years of relevant analytics experience.
- 5+ years in the Retail and Marketplace space.
- Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, data science, statistics or related quantitative disciplines (Master’s preferred).
- Senior‑most contact for analytics at client‑side or marketing/advertising agencies; experience managing analytics teams and delivering for a portfolio of clients, with expertise in presenting to clients.
- Experience mentoring staff from entry‑level to senior roles.
- Experience delivering clear, strategic presentations to C‑level clients and agency executives.
- Experience guiding strategic thinking and leadership for data analytics, insights and innovation, evolving client measurement capabilities across business maturity stages.
- Familiarity with statistical concepts, machine learning, AI/Gen AI and hands‑on expertise in two or more of the following areas:
Customer Analytics, Advanced Measurement and Attribution, ML‑driven Personalization, Market Research, Media Analytics, Reporting & BI. - Working knowledge of relational databases, machine learning/AI techniques and programming languages (SQL, R, Python) and clean room solutions and technologies.
- Experience with data sourcing, evaluation, onboarding and integration.
- Familiarity with setting up and measuring a Retail Marketplace.
- Understanding of the Ad/Mar Tech landscape across all digital and non‑digital channels and their advantages/limitations.
The annual base salary range for this position is $196,000-$316,250. Placement within the salary range is based on relevant experience, knowledge, skills and other factors permitted by law. This position is eligible for discretionary incentive compensation.
