IT Help Desk Associate (Level 1 Technician) – Far Rockaway, NY

Tiegerman School and Community Services is a non-profit organization providing services for children from preschool through grade 12 and adults with developmental disabilities. The IT Help Desk Associate will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, or software. Responds to help desk requests, runs diagnostic programs, isolates the problem, and determines and implements a solution.

This position is based out of our Far Rockaway, NY location. The hours for this are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. This is a non-exempt position; OT eligible. May need to travel to other Tiegerman locations on an as-needed basis.

Salary Range: $50K-$60K. Salary is determined by years of experience in the relevant position and the highest level of completed education.

Responsibilities
  • Creates new user accounts and e-mail accounts
  • Installs and configures computer hardware and operating systems
  • Helps employees resolve computer issues either in person, over the phone, or by email in a timely fashion.
  • Repair or replace faulty computer hardware
  • Repair/replace faulty network jacks and network cables
  • Assist teachers in obtaining media to help with lesson plan (ex. Download and format instructional videos, music, and files)
  • Set up and deploy classroom computers and iPads
  • Assists IT Coordinator and other staff members in projects as assigned
  • Assist in obtaining media for school events (ex. Talent shows, graduations)
  • Assists outside presenters with computer-related issues
  • Travels to and from other job sites to assist in hardware and software issues (Travel ~20% of the time)
  • Helps keep inventory up to date
  • Gain feedback from users regarding computer usage
  • Follow up with users to make sure issues are resolved
  • Must be able to physically move and deploy equipment (less than 50 lbs)
  • Meraki / Cisco networking (ability to diagnose network connectivity and access issues)
  • Permissions and user access rights
  • Active Directory and Azure Entra
  • Other duties assigned by Supervisor or Administration
