Workday Payroll / Symplr Systems Specialist

The ideal candidate will bring expert‑level knowledge in Workday Payroll and Symplr Time & Attendance systems, with a strong focus on payroll domain expertise. This is an 18+ month contract, hybrid (2 days onsite, 3 days remote weekly), and the candidate must be local to the New York City area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Configure and maintain Workday Payroll and related integrations.
  • Analyze complex business problems and implement technical solutions.
  • Lead system design, testing, deployment, and support activities.
  • Develop and execute integration strategies with third‑party systems.
  • Provide technical expertise for system optimization and customization.
  • Create and maintain process documentation.
  • Conduct user training and provide mentorship to junior team members.
  • Support financial analysis and business process improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in system upgrades and enhancement projects.
Required Qualifications 4+ years of experience in Workday Payroll configuration and implementation.
  • Demonstrated expertise with Symplr Time & Attendance systems.
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with revenue cycle management and information systems.
  • Healthcare or not‑for‑profit sector experience preferred.
  • Must have Workday Payroll configuration experience.
