Metro Plus Health  is seeking a resourceful, creative professional with excellent analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills to serve as Chief of Staff to the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and the Information Technology Department.

They are responsible for driving key strategic initiatives across the Information Technology Division that are consistently aligned with our Mission, Vision, and Core Values. This individual should demonstrate the ability to build cross-functional relationships and to take the initiative on a variety of organizational matters from strategy and operations.

The ideal candidate should also be able to communicate diplomatically and with the utmost discretion with all levels of the organization, from C-Suite to management to frontline staff. A high EQ is a must.

Duties & Responsibilities

The following management activities comprise 90% of the role :

  • Provide leadership and effective project management in all areas of staffing in the Information Technology Division, including administration and project completion.
  • Participate on behalf of the CIO on strategic and operational initiatives across Metro Plus Health  e.g., process improvement, business, and technology strategic development, etc.
  • Be a value-add thought partner to the CIO and senior IT leadership and provide candid, insightful feedback on critical and / or confidential decisions.
  • Identify issues that should and should not be escalated to the CIO and address the latter with appropriate stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with C-Suite and departmental staff on continuous implementation of IT strategy.
  • Provide support to top senior IT leadership, decision-makers, and project managers.
  • Determine, in collaboration with the CIO and senior IT leadership, key performance indicators and how to measure team performance.
  • Participate in key strategic and operational meetings both internal and external to the organization on behalf of the CIO.

The following administrative activities comprise 10% of the role :

  • Record CIO and Staff meeting minutes.
  • Draft CIO and monthly reports to the CEO, Executive team, and the Metro Plus Health  Board of Directors and Sub-Committees.
  • Verify employee time and leave requests, timesheet, and reimbursement documentation.
  • Manage the CIO's calendar and event schedule.
Minimum Qualifications Required

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree;
  • 2 or more years of relevant work experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.
Preferred

Education and Experience
  • 2 or more years of experience in managing IT systems, healthcare, managed care, policy, and / or government.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience conducting quantitative research and data analysis.
  • Proven presentation and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office - specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in a wide range of mediums.
  • Ability to pivot and adapt to both independent and team-based settings.
  • Highly detail-oriented, resourceful, and self-motivated.
  • Polished interpersonal skills with emphasis on discretion and diplomacy.
  • Able to prioritize among competing demands and establish processes to assure timely, accurate, and effective completion of multiple projects.
Supervisory Responsibility
  • May oversee graduate intern as part of the corporate summer internship program.
Travel
  • Some local five-borough travel in support of the CIO may occasionally be required.
