Role – Java L3 Application Support Engineer

Location – New York, NY (Onsite)

Experience required – 6+ years

Duration – Fulltime Role

• You have experience with supporting Enterprise Applications
• 1-2 years experience in Application development and 5-6 years of experience in application support role
• You have a good OOP foundation with expertise in Angular 2+, Core Java, Java Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, Micro Services
• You have experience in databases like Oracle, MS SQL, Mongo DB
• You have experience in configuring, debugging or supporting business applications
• In Capital Markets Domain preferably Debt or Equity Capital Markets Origination
• You possess advanced execution capabilities and ability to adjust quickly to changes, especially in prioritization
• You have excellent writing and communication skills, with a knack for taking technical language and making it understandable
• You have a passion for solving tough problems and proposing elegant solutions
• You must be well under pressure and handle changing priorities
• You are an avid learner with an ability to learn and adapt so that you can help teach others and encourage idea exchange and information percolation

• Provide technical and business support for users of Client Applications, including quick resolution of application issues and driving stability, efficiency, and effectiveness improvements.
• Act as a liaison between users/traders, internal technology groups, and vendors, and serve as an advisor or coach to new or junior analysts.
• Participate in application releases from development, testing, and deployment into production, perform post-release checkouts after application releases and infrastructure updates, and develop and maintain technical support documentation.
• Maintain application systems that have completed the development stage and are running in daily operations of the firm.
• Manage, maintain, and support applications and their operating environments, focusing on stability, quality, and functionality against service level expectations.
• Assist in appropriately assessing risks when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the company’s reputation and safeguarding client and client’s assets by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to policy, and applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal conduct.
• Apply analytical thinking and knowledge of data analysis tools and methodologies, with attention to detail when making judgments and recommendations based on analysis of factual information.
• Deal with most problems independently and have some latitude to solve complex problems; integrate in-depth specialty area knowledge with a solid understanding of industry standards and practices; typically deal with variable issues with potentially broader business impact; apply professional judgment when interpreting data and results; break down information in a systematic and communicable manner; possess developed communication and diplomacy skills required to exchange potentially complex/sensitive information;
  
  have a moderate but direct impact through close contact with the business core activities; quality and timeliness of service provided will affect the effectiveness of own team and other closely related teams.
