Work Type Designation: Hybrid. This role requires working from the office approximately 2-3 days per week.

  • In-office presence will be required for managing hardware inventory, including but not limited to setting up laptops for new users, managing return and retrieval processes, etc.

Reports to: Chief Technology Officer

Union Status and Grade: T1. This is a union position.

Salary Range: $63,000 - $92,270 annually. Salary is determined based on a candidate's years of relevant experience and geographic location per grade in the CBA. Overtime compensation for hours worked is calculated in accordance with our Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

Travel: Up to 10% when needed.

FLSA Status: Non-exempt, full-time

Junior Systems Administrator

The Junior Systems Administrator will provide hands‑on technical assistance and systems administration in a Microsoft 365 and Entra  (Azure Active Directory) environment. This position is the first line of support and is responsible for technical problem‑solving while communicating empathetically to our staff who rely on secure, reliable systems to pursue our work. The Junior Systems Administrator will troubleshoot and resolve tickets, assist with deployment and upkeep of devices, and provide support that fosters trust across staff.

This role will participate in an on‑call schedule as set by the Chief Technology Officer, anticipated to occur approximately once every three weeks, to respond to occasional after‑hours emergencies. On‑call support does not require remaining online for extended hours waiting, and is intended for urgent, unplanned issues impacting staff operations. Additional details about on‑call expectations, tools, and support will be shared during onboarding as the process continues to develop.

You’ll Do
  • Provide Tier 1‑2 technical support for end users via helpdesk tickets, phone, virtual, and in‑person support.
  • Configure, deploy, and maintain computers, laptops, printers, peripherals and other technical equipment.
  • Create, manage, and deactivate user accounts, groups, licenses and access rights in Microsoft 365 and Entra .
  • Provide technical assistance and training for applications and tools, including Teams, One Drive and SharePoint.
  • Support routine system patching, software updates and endpoint security measures.
