Health Answers by Pfizer is a new consumer health & wellness digital product developed in support of our Purpose Blueprint Big Idea 3.1, placing health information at people’s fingertips. Powered by generative AI, it provides up‑to‑date, relevant answers to any health & wellness question and summarizes information from trusted and credible organizations that maintain a science‑based approach and editorial independence.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Technical Director to join the Health Answers by Pfizer team. The role will be the tech lead on Health Answers by Pfizer, working directly with the VP of Technology, solution delivery leads, and delivery teams to architect new features, update existing features, choose technology strategies, and bring innovative thinking and approaches. Must be at the forefront of Generative AI and software development.

• Technical Strategy
  • Anticipate upcoming technical needs
  • Bring appropriate technical approaches
  • Communicate the technical strategy effectively to stakeholders and delivery teams
• High‑Level Architecture
  • Put together high‑level technical architectures that describe current and future state of Health Answers by Pfizer technical stack
  • Drive decisions related to technical platform
• Vendor Management
  • Negotiate vendor and platform contracts and SOWs
  • Procure the best technology to meet the needs of the team
• Program Leadership
  • Explain technical decisions in ways that non‑technical folks can understand
  • Be highly collaborative with Product Lead and Pilot in Command
  • Problem‑solve on the fly and think on their feet
• Innovative Thinking
  • Create novel solutions and champion out‑of‑the‑box ideas for solving technical, architectural, and process challenges
  • Have deep familiarity with Generative AI, AI agents, microservices, and large‑scale cloud architecture
• Delivery Management
  • Manage the delivery management function and teams
  • Manage the delivery vendors
  • Ensure uptime on Health Answers by Pfizer, including all underlying technical platforms (AWS, Azure, Cloudflare, Adobe, etc.) and monitoring solutions (currently Dynatrace)
• Product Uptime
  • Work with on‑call support teams when outages occur

• Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Technology or a related field with at least 12 years of applicable experience
  • Master’s degree is preferred
• Experience
  • Proven experience in software development, large‑scale applications, Generative AI, or a related field
  • Experience in consumer digital products and associated technical project management roles is highly desirable

  • Ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights
