Robotics, Systems Engineer
Our client is seeking a Dev Ops Engineer with deep experience supporting hardware‑software products at scale, specifically in environments where companies have grown from a handful of robotic systems to hundreds deployed in the field.
This role is critical to ensuring our client's build, deployment, and testing infrastructure remains reliable, scalable, and production‑ready as their robotics platform continues to expand rapidly. The ideal candidate has shipped real HW/SW systems, understands the realities of physical devices, and can operate effectively in a fast‑moving, on‑site engineering environment.
The ideal candidate has shipped real HW/SW systems, understands the realities of physical devices, and can operate effectively in a fast‑moving, on‑site engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities- Design, build, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines supporting robotics software and embedded systems
- Own and improve build systems for large‑scale robotics codebases (e.g., CMake, Bazel)
- Support hardware‑in‑the‑loop (HIL) and system‑level testing workflows (experience here is a strong plus)
- Manage and optimize Linux‑based development and deployment environments
- Collaborate closely with robotics, firmware, and software engineers to enable fast, reliable iteration
- Ensure infrastructure scales smoothly as the fleet grows from tens to hundreds of deployed robots
- Troubleshoot complex build, deployment, and integration issues across HW/SW boundaries
- 5+ years of professional Dev Ops, infrastructure, or systems engineering experience
- Proven experience shipping and supporting hardware/software devices (robotics, embedded systems, autonomous platforms, or similar)
- CI/CD pipelines (Git Hub‑based workflows preferred)
- Build systems such as CMake and/or Bazel
- Python scripting for automation and tooling
- Solid understanding of how Dev Ops practices differ for physical systems vs. pure cloud software
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- Experience supporting systems that scaled rapidly in production
- Exposure to robotics, autonomy, embedded systems, or safety‑critical environments
- Fully on‑site role due to the hardware‑centric nature of the work (collaboration is critical)
- Direct impact on real, deployed robotic systems
This is a foundational role that will become increasingly critical as deployment scales. This is an opportunity to join early, shape infrastructure from the ground up, and directly enable the success of a rapidly growing robotics platform.
