Position Overview- Location:
Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Columbus, Raleigh, Charlotte, Pittsburgh. - Reports To:
VP IT - The Restaurant Systems Manager oversees all restaurant and digital applications, including Toast POS, ERP systems, online menu configurations, and other specialized applications integrated with the POS environment. This role serves as the primary subject matter expert, supporting both corporate and franchise operations by ensuring systems are stable, efficient, and aligned with business objectives.
- Strong background in restaurant operations, solid technical aptitude, and the ability to collaborate effectively across cross‑functional teams such as Operations, Marketing, and Accounting.
- This role also requires proficiency in Microsoft 365 administration and network management.
- Manages and configures restaurant technology applications, including POS, online menus, third‑party marketplaces (UberEATS, Door Dash, Grubhub, etc.) and other digital ordering platforms.
- Assist with network tasks (VPNs, routers) and security system installations/maintenance.
- Coordinate all technology needs for new locations, including hardware procurement and setup.
- Manages all digital menu administration, ensuring accurate pricing, promotions, and visuals.
- Manages and closely partners with vendors to diagnose and resolve technical issues related to application performance, connectivity, and downed equipment.
- Evaluates system upgrades or enhancements, ensuring software solutions align with business needs and improve operational efficiency, making recommendations to leadership.
- Maintains and develops technical/user documentation for applications.
- Documents and resolves hardware/software failures proactively.
- Strong understanding of POS systems, cloud‑based platforms, and store technology infrastructure.
- Experience with Toast, ERP systems, and online ordering software solutions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with internal customers, external customers, vendors, and franchisees.
- Ability to independently solve practical and abstract problems and deal with a variety of known and unknown variables.
- Strong planning and prioritization skills to meet tight deadlines.
- Experience working with vendor support teams to resolve application‑related issues.
- Initiative and strong time/project management skills.
- Ability to quickly adapt to change.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with business/restaurant application management.
- Experience with cloud‑based POS systems (e.g., Toast, Brink, or similar).
- Background working online ordering platforms, Restaurant
365. - Previous experience supporting franchise operations is highly desirable.
