Position Overview- Seeking an experienced Data Engineer with strong SQL, dbt, and Python skills to design, build, and maintain our data transformation and analytics pipelines in Snowflake.
- Ideal candidate has hands-on experience with modern ELT tools, data modeling, and cloud-based platforms — and brings a mindset of automation, testing, and documentation to every project.
- Collaborate closely with data architects and integration engineers to ensure data from Open Flow pipelines is transformed into trusted, analytics-ready models for reporting and advanced analytics.

Salary: $100,000 – $151,000
Sign On Bonus: $1,500

Key Responsibilities- Advanced SQL Development:
Write and optimize complex SQL queries and dbt models for data transformation and analysis within Snowflake. - DBT Model Development:
Build, test, and maintain dbt models that convert raw data into actionable insights. - ETL/ELT Pipeline Management:
Design and manage efficient pipelines using dbt, Open Flow, and Python to process and deliver data across systems. - SQL Performance Tuning:
Optimize query performance, clustering, and cost efficiency in Snowflake. - Data Quality Assurance:
Ensure that transformed data meets accuracy and consistency standards through dbt testing and validation frameworks. - Collaboration:
Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and architecture leads to translate data requirements into scalable transformations. - Data Documentation:
Maintain clear documentation for dbt models, data flows, and dependencies for ongoing visibility and reuse. - Version Control:
Manage dbt and Python projects in Git, following clean, modular, and testable development practices. - Automation Support:
Partner with automation engineers to enhance data ingestion and transformation workflows through Open Flow.
- Knowledge of database coding and tables; general database management.
- Client management, support, and communicating progress and timelines.
- Organizes and/or leads Informatics projects implementing new data warehouse tools and systems.
- Train new hires and lead training of new client staff members.
- Understand data schema and analyze database performance and accuracy.
- Understand ETL tools, OLAP design, and data quality processes.
- Knowledge of BI life cycle: planning, design, development, validation, deployment, documentation, and ongoing support.
- Working knowledge of electronic medical records software (eCW, Next Gen, etc.) and backend storage.
- Generate probability modeling and statistics related to healthcare outcomes and financial risks.
- Manage lengthy and complicated projects throughout the life cycle and meet deadlines.
- Development, maintenance, technical support of various reports and dashboards.
- Knowledge of Microsoft SQL: coding, tables, stored procedures, query design.
- Fundamental understanding of outpatient healthcare workflows.
- Knowledge of relational database concepts and flat/formatted file processing.
- Commitment to data validation processes to ensure accurate reporting (internal quality control).
- Firm grasp of patient confidentiality and system security practices to prevent HIPAA violations.
- Knowledge of IBM Cognos or other reporting software such as SAS, SPSS, and Crystal Reports.
