Location: New York

Our firm has been exclusively retained to conduct a confidential search for a Vice President, Information Technology (VP IT) on behalf of a well-capitalized, growth-oriented asset-based lending (ABL) platform headquartered in New York City.

This is a senior leadership role for a technology executive with deep experience supporting regulated lending environments
, with particular strength in IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, disaster recovery, and enterprise systems reliability.

The Opportunity

The VP, Information Technology will be responsible for the stability, security, and resilience of the firm’s technology environment
, ensuring that core lending operations, credit systems, and data platforms are secure, scalable, and highly available.

This role partners closely with executive leadership and plays a critical role in supporting underwriting, portfolio management, risk, compliance, and reporting
, with a mandate focused on enterprise IT, risk management, and business continuity rather than product development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and execute the firm’s IT infrastructure strategy across cloud, on-prem, and hybrid environments
  • Oversee networks, servers, storage, identity management, and endpoint environments
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of all core lending and financial systems
  • Lead vendor selection and management for MSPs, cloud providers, and technology partners
Cybersecurity & Risk Management (Primary Focus)
  • Define and maintain the firm’s cybersecurity strategy and security architecture
  • Establish and enforce policies related to access controls, data protection, endpoint security, and monitoring
  • Lead cyber incident response planning, testing, and execution
  • Ensure technology controls align with regulatory, compliance, and audit requirements
Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity
  • Design, maintain, and test disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity (BCP) plans
  • Own backup, recovery, and failover strategies for all mission‑critical lending and financial systems
  • Conduct regular DR testing and tabletop exercises to ensure operational readiness
  • Minimize downtime and operational risk in the event of system failures or cyber incidents
Lending Systems & Business Partnership
  • Oversee core lending technology platforms
    , including loan origination, servicing, collateral management, and reporting systems
  • Partner with credit, risk, finance, and operations teams to ensure system reliability and data integrity
  • Support data visibility, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency across the lending lifecycle
Governance & Leadership
  • Establish IT governance, controls, standards, and operating procedures
  • Build, lead, and mentor internal IT teams and external partners
  • Communicate technology risk, readiness, and investment priorities to senior leadership
  • Support executive decision-making with clear, business‑focused technology insight
Ideal Background
  • 10+ years of progressive technology leadership experience
  • Prior experience as VP IT, Head of IT, Head of Infrastructure, or similar
  • Direct experience supporting asset‑based lending, commercial lending, specialty finance, or regulated financial services
  • Strong understanding of lending workflows, credit systems, and financial data environments
  • Demonstrated experience operating in regulated, security‑sensitive environments
  • Proven ability to modernize infrastructure while maintaining operational stability
Technical & Leadership Profile
  • Deep expertise in:
    • Cybersecurity and risk management
    • Disaster recovery and business continuity
    • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or similar)
    • Experience managing third‑party vendors and technology risk
  • Executive presence with the ability to translate technical risk into business impact
  • Strong communication skills with senior executives and stakeholders
