Senior Director, Enterprise Data Strategy

Location: Remote / Crystal Lake, IL preferred (Europe: UK, Germany, France, Italy, Czech Republic)

The Senior Director, Enterprise Data Strategy and Execution is responsible for establishing the vision (defined with the Excom), strategic priorities and execution of a comprehensive data strategy and analytics initiatives across the organization. The role collaborates closely with segments and corporate functions to align data initiatives with overall business objectives and drive strategic value from data assets. The senior director will drive data solutions that support business growth, enhance operational efficiency, and foster a data‑driven culture across the enterprise.

The role also champions planning and advancement for innovative data technologies and solutions such as AI, ML, predictive analysis, and enhances the organization’s data capabilities in partnership with IS. A network of Data Representatives is identified within each segment and function to ensure widespread and scalable implementation of the strategy.

• Lead the creation and execution of the enterprise‑wide data strategy and global data governance initiatives including data documentation, data quality, data access control, data integration, interoperability, data change management, and master data management to directly support organizational priorities.
• Drive the vision and roadmap for leveraging data to create value and drive digital transformation across the organization.
• Establish and maintain enterprise data frameworks and policies to ensure governance, integrity, privacy, security, and compliance.
• Oversee the design and implementation of scalable and secure data architecture that supports business intelligence, analytics, and advanced data science initiatives in collaboration with IS.
• Champion data quality initiatives to ensure accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of data used across the organization.
• Promote the use of data visualizations, statistical modeling, and advanced analytics to generate actionable insights that drive business performance and strategic decisions.
• Partner closely with enterprise architecture on activities related to data strategy, design, architecture, and solutioning.
• Create and manage an Aptar Data Encyclopedia detailing all data used by segments and departments, including its creation and management.
• Continuously monitor new data creation and ensure harmonization in conjunction with Data Representatives.
• Create robust processes to centrally manage master data across all Aptar IT platforms.
• Drive data democratization by establishing a governance model focused on report reuse and lifecycle management.

• Maintain effective relationships with cross‑functional leaders to ensure alignment of data strategy with localized initiatives and adherence to enterprise data and architecture principles and policies.
• Work with IS to integrate data governance, data management practices, and technological solutions, ensuring a unified approach to data utilization.
• Partner with business units to identify key data opportunities and use data to solve complex business challenges.
• Identify, collaborate, and champion innovative data technologies and solutions such as AI, ML, predictive analysis, big data, and cloud computing to enhance the organization’s data capabilities.
• Provide regular executive‑level reporting on stakeholder engagement activities, key metrics, and potential risks or opportunities.

• Minimum BS or BA degree required.
• 10+ years in data management, analytics, or related functions, including 3–5 years in a leadership role.
• Deep experience with enterprise data platforms, data lakes/warehouses, BI tools, and industrial data systems.
• Knowledge of manufacturing operations and systems (SAP, MES, etc.).
• Proven ability to define and execute cross‑functional strategies.
• Ability to assess, design, and execute data strategies that align with business objectives.
