Location:

New York, NY (hybrid 3x/week)

Rates: $55 to $75, depending on experience and type of contract (1099 or W2)

• +4 years of experience in security engineering
• Hands‑on experience with Network Security, Data Protection (Encryption and PKI), and Endpoint Security and monitoring

• Build and operate defense‑in‑depth controls across OSI layers, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and network segmentation to reduce blast radius and contain incidents.
• Implement and maintain PKI at scale, manage certificate life cycles (issuance, rotation, expiry), and enforce encryption standards (TLS, AES, SHA) across networks, systems, and applications.
• Configure and operate endpoint protection platforms (EDR/EPP), integrate endpoints with SIEM and monitoring tools, and lead investigations of suspected endpoint compromises.
• Use network and endpoint telemetry to identify threats, investigate root causes, and drive remediation actions based on real incidents rather than theoretical scenarios.
• Translate compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, PCI DSS) into concrete technical decisions that influence network design, encryption choices, logging, and access controls.
