Job Responsibilities
  • Maintain a holistic view of the internal health care warehouse semantics layer and prioritize improvements and expansions with an eye toward scalability.
  • Facilitate product design sessions with data scientists and end users to capture requirements related to business cases.
  • Design and implement health care data modeling solutions such as data marts within Morgan Health’s analytics environment.
  • Develop and maintain a robust testing framework and test code to ensure data products match established requirements as new data are delivered.
  • Become a subject‑matter expert on Morgan Health’s data sources, understand their context and limitations, and maintain data lineage documentation and a data catalog to promote transparency for data‑science users.
  • Proactively investigate, identify root causes, and address data quality issues to ensure accurate and reliable insights.
  • Scope and manage new data ingestions in collaboration with upstream data providers and the engineering team to ensure accurate processing, cleaning, and integration into the production warehouse.
  • Ensure the data warehouse adheres to all data privacy standards, regulations, and industry‑standard data governance practices.
  • Participate in code reviews with engineers and data scientists, advising on and adhering to coding standards and best practices.
Required Qualifications , Capabilities, And Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 7+ years of professional experience (or 5+ years of professional experience plus a related graduate degree) in data engineering, analytics engineering, or product design thinking with a strong emphasis on health care data.
  • Proven track record of creating and maintaining data models, data marts, and ETL processes to deliver creative solutions that meet competing business needs.
  • Strong understanding of health care data warehousing concepts, data modeling techniques, and data quality principles.
  • Hands‑on experience with dbt and common coding languages such as Python, R, and SQL.
  • Experience developing technical documentation and requirements for data or software engineering teams to implement.
  • Team‑oriented attitude with excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications , Capabilities, And Skills
  • Master’s degree or PhD in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Subject‑matter expertise in medical and pharmaceutical claims data, including familiarity with common coding standards and standardizations, groupers, data transformations (e.g., TUVA), and logic (e.g., HEDIS rules).
  • Hands‑on experience with Databricks or similar technologies.
  • Proven experience in developing and managing health care claims warehouses in a payer or care delivery setting.
  • Background in creating data infrastructure and transformations that support value‑based care contracting and reconciliation processes.
  • Proven ability to multitask effectively, balance competing priorities, and design creative solutions.
  • Expertise in implementing AI solutions, including LLM and Copilot, modernizing technology stacks, and enabling reporting through business intelligence and data visualization tools.
  • Ability to work directly with non‑technical business stakeholders to effectively communicate strategy and understand their needs.
