Our client, Vistal Tech, is seeking an experienced Cloud Architect to lead the design and execution of a large-scale on‑premises to AWS cloud migration (Lift‑and‑Shift program).
Key Responsibilities- Architecture & Design – Define cloud reference architectures for AWS Lift‑and‑Shift workloads.
- Design Migration Approaches – For compute, storage, database, and networking components.
- Ensure high availability, security, and scalability in migrated workloads.
- Migration Planning & Execution – Assess existing on‑prem environments (applications, infrastructure, and dependencies). Develop migration blueprints and wave‑based migration plans. Lead execution of migration projects using AWS services such as AWS Migration Hub, Application Migration Service, Database Migration Service, etc.
- Governance & Compliance – Establish cloud governance frameworks covering security, identity, cost management, and compliance. Ensure solutions adhere to organizational and regulatory requirements.
- Collaboration & Leadership – Partner with infrastructure, application, and security teams to align migration strategy. Mentor engineering teams on AWS best practices and migration patterns. Act as a technical advisor to stakeholders, ensuring business objectives are met.
- Optimization & Operations – Recommend post‑migration optimization (cost, performance, monitoring). Enable observability and automation through AWS Cloud Watch, Cloud Trail, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
- Bachelors/Masters in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of IT infrastructure/architecture experience.
- 5+ years of hands‑on AWS cloud architecture and migration experience.
- Proven success in large‑scale on‑prem to AWS Lift‑and‑Shift or rehost migrations.
- Strong expertise in AWS core services: EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, ELB, Cloud Formation/Terraform.
- Experience with migration tools: AWS Application Migration Service, Migration Hub, Cloud Endure, DMS.
- Knowledge of networking (VPN, Direct Connect, hybrid cloud) and security best practices.
- Familiarity with containerization (ECS, EKS, Docker) is a plus.
- Certifications (preferred): AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, AWS Certified Security/Specialty certifications.
